👋🏼 Hello, listener!
This is a podcast bonus segment that I am learning to put together by playing around with Descript, an audio editing and transcription service. Among other things, it helps me make these cool audiograms.
You may know Marc Taro Holmes as the founder of the OneWeek100People and 30x30 Direct Watercolour challenge or the artist formerly known as the Citizen Sketcher. I spoke with him about this when we recorded Episode 23 of the SneakyArt Podcast. It’s one of my favourite conversations on the show, and I suggest you give it a listen.
He dropped by for a second chat earlier this month. We spoke about the recently concluded 5th edition of OneWeek100People, and the upcoming 30-day challenge - 30x30 Direct Watercolour.
The full episode is scheduled to release in June, but I have decided to share a small portion today. I hope you enjoy listening to it!
If you like it, feel free to share this post with another person who might enjoy it too!
Also, I would love to hear what you think of the above conversation and your opinion on the audiogram format. Leave a comment (below) or hit reply to this email!
Thank you for your time and attention.
📝 Episode Notes
Marc talks about art history and the evolving purpose of art in human society. Related, read my interpretation of the essay “The End of Art” by Arthur Danto.
I shared my ideas about the artist as a creative entrepreneur on Ep 260 of the Seen/Unseen Podcast with Amit Varma. Head here if you’re interested in an extended episode about how I think, including a deep dive into my life and background.
After the release of the episode with Amit Varma, I wrote the following posts to articulate further my thoughts on the creator economy and the niche I am building for SneakyArt - [On da Vinci and TikTok] [On art as a function of living] [The problem of narratives and the existence of other people] [My path towards becoming an accidental artist] [Why I self-published my first book of SneakyArt].
