Dear reader,
Everywhere I go, I find tiny people. This week’s SneakyArt Drop features the people I found at Dam Square in Amsterdam.
SneakyArt is on vacation. During this period, readers receive only a weekly highlight. To receive all drawings and updates, win original art from me, and support my work, become an Insider!
✍🏼 Tiny People of Dam Square
Sketching at Dam Square is the equivalent of sketching at Times Square in New York. You get a healthy mix of locals and tourists. Maybe even more tourists than locals?
In any case, it is a crazy place with many things happening all at once. A dozen or more languages. People from everywhere. Life intersecting with other life. Fertile grounds for SneakyArt.
Dear reader, do you see any stories here? Pick your favourite tiny person and join me in the comments!
💌 Postcards from Vacation
Every week I am sending postcards to SneakyArt Insiders. Last week’s postcard was drawn on Prinsengracht, overlooking the canals by the Anne Frank House, in Amsterdam. It is headed to Oslo!
Dear reader, this is a freedom I enjoy very much. It is a privilege to be able to give away my work. I could not have afforded it, but SneakyArt Insiders make it possible.
To become a SneakyArt Insider means to -
🎙 support my work as an independent artist, writer and podcaster,
💌 win a chance at getting free art from me,
🙌🏽 enable me to share my work with the world.
If you agree with this mission, consider becoming a SneakyArt Insider for less than $1 per post!
Thank you for your time and attention. I am glad to have a place in your inbox.

The Jaywalker grew up in a midwestern suburb, black streets and white sidewalks and manicured lawns. To jaywalk back home was the easiest way to be punk back in the 90s. The Jaywalker didn't care much for Nirvana. "Why is he so mad?" the Jaywalker often said. The Jaywalker is older now, but not much wiser, which is why she has come to Amsterdam to expand her mind.
One day, the Jaywalker decides to eat some magical mushrooms, and just as her stomach begins to feel like it's being pulled towards the ground by a fishing wire, she looks across the street at Vondelpark, where she's been told to go for edification. The clouds do something funny. What's on her lip? She looks both ways before crossing the double bike lane, and then the two-lane road, and then the buzzing tram line (is it electrified?), and two more car lanes and bike lanes, and the park seems so far away. She puts in her headphones and listens to Nirvana while crossing. Maybe Kurt Cobain will help her see the light. She'd like to feel punk rock once again.
Nice! I walked there almost every day going to school. It's a great place to people watch. Enjoy!
