Dear reader,
Good habits need upkeep. This week was about re-examining my resolution to live by a process-oriented approach. The decision to not set any goals. And the idea of a positive-sum world.
The SneakyArt Post is
a publication about secretly drawn art of the worldcurrently on summer break.

This week, I want to re-share the resolutions of 2023
… and the principles that are guiding my journey of self-education to be an artist and writer. I wrote this post at the start of the year, and it has quickly become one of the most popular posts of all time.
In keeping with the pledge to ‘learn in public’, I am taking it out of the paywall so you can read it in its entirety.
Becoming Process-Oriented
I have struggled with goal-setting ever since embarking on this creative career. There are no clear numbers to mark the path. Nothing says how far you have come. Nothing indicates how much further there is to go.
It took a lot of time to understand that goal-setting itself was the problem.
I needed to find something that was fulfilling in and of itself.
That is how this newsletter began. That is how the Podcast began. I did not have a precise idea of what direction they would go, or how they might look after a year or two. I did not know if they would even last a year or two. But I knew what I wanted to do… [Continue reading]
A Positive-Sum World

Insider Hangout this Sunday
I go through my latest sketchbooks and introduce the ideas of my new workshop - How to Start and Finish your Drawings.
The Insider Hangout is my monthly check-in with SneakyArt Insiders. We share sketching adventures. We look at sketchbooks. We draw things.
Come, hang out with us this Saturday! I will talk about Sketcher Fest and share the drawings I made there.
Thank you dear for your time and attention. I am glad to have a space in your inbox.
I really enjoyed your CBC interview, ( even if you weren’t exactly thrilled about it at the time.. well done by the way, you spoke incredibly well ), and just wanted to say thank you for inspiring me more than you could possibly know.!!!! I am not an 85 per center all of the time, as it basically depends on the task at hand. I can be a 50 , a 10 or 100 per center. My creative side has been kept at 0 per cent for far too long. I too am a traveler. Why not enjoy the ride? Brilliant stacks and thanks again.
Thank you. 💚
