223. We made a Tiny Person!

Big news! (Biggest news?) This week we made a tiny person. For a tiny person, he has had quite an outsized impact on our lives. What is day and what is night? What is waking and what is dreaming? Life is a blur and I could not be happier!

In today’s post, a glimpse of this tiny new life, and a request for parental leave for the sneaky artist.

Day One, my two babies catching a nap.

Say hello to little Rohan, who entered this world on Monday morning, weighing in at 3.12 kg and scraping the sky at 19” height.

The best fingers.

Rohan has the best, most well-articulated fingers of any baby in history. Incidentally, he also has the best feet. And the best eyes. And the most rosy cheeks. Also, his general demeanour is the best out of all babies everywhere.

Application for Parental Leave

Dear reader, can an independent writer actually go on parental leave? Will society permit this? Do the cold forces of our economic reality leave room for such luxury? We are about to find out!

Over the next few weeks, I will be posting less often. The Sunday posts to Insiders will continue to go out, I hope, with any drawings I am able to make and any scattered thoughts I am able to stitch together. But day is night and night is day. Attention for worldly matters runs scarce. Everything is devoted to this little one who refuses to respect our sleep schedule.

Did you know babies run through diapers very quickly? I changed him 4 times last night! Help us power through 3am feeds and changes by buying me a coffee. 🥱
