Dear reader,

❤️ Read, comment, and ‘like’ the stories by other readers.s
📬 … Win? I will announce the best stories next week.
The SneakyArt Post is a publication of secretly drawn art of the world. Every week, the best pages from my sketchbook and good ideas from my journey as an artist and writer.
If you know someone else who might like writing a tiny story, share this post with them!
On July 1st, under a sky of blue, yellow, and white, I sat on warm, green grass to watch the people of my world. In summer, a public park can be a third space of our lives. Not yours, or mine, but ours. It is a beautiful thing.
People do different things in the park, but everyone comes for the same reasons. To take in the sun, to read, to see friends, to walk a pet, to play sports, to stretch their legs, and even just to draw. To live our lives around other people, because life gathers energy from other life, and it is a better world with other people in it. It is a better life when we see others live theirs.
A tiny person is just a thing of lines and shapes, simple impressions of a complicated life. It is an impression of the brief moment that my world intersected with that of another person. Writing a tiny story is a way to bring that person from my world into yours. To re-humanize the flattened impression into a full person again, with a full life, and things going on. It is an act of resurrection.
I hope you enjoy taking part!
Engrossed
The sun was really beating down. He would need to move to avoid getting burnt. Maybe after this page. Soon. He had to move, of course. And he would. After this one, yes. The hair on his legs began to curl. A toasty warmth spread up from his feet. He turned over, and turned the page.
Frisbee
“Don’t throw it too hard!”
“Relax, I know what I’m doing.”
“Ooh, and with that fancy grip!”
“Heh. I saw someone doing it this way the other day.”
“Lookin’ good...”
He blushed. It went right over her head.
Winning entries get a signed, tiny drawing from me! For inspiration, read some tiny stories of days past.

Dog
“When we first agreed to foster Diesel, I wasn’t too sure.”
“And now?”
“He’s kinda grown on me.”
She looked surprised. “You were nervous.”
“Yeah, but now we have our park routine.”
“Does this mean…?”
“Yes.”
Two Hats on a Blanket
"What should we do for dinner tonight?"
"Hmm. We could eat out."
"Yeah. We could. But, we've got the seafood soup you made the other day. It's sooo good. I don't want it going to waste."
He sighed lightly and squinted. "True. Would you be willing to make one of your yummy salads? I think we've still got ingredients in the fridge."
Grinning with a slight nod, "Absolutely. Plus, we can toast the stale bread and use up that open Chardonnay, too."
He replied, energized and gushing, "Leftovers are the best. With you."
