Dear reader,
In today’s post, a memory unlocked.
The SneakyArt Post is a newsletter of secretly drawn art of the world. On some days, my son is the entirety of my world. Every week, I share the latest pages from my sketchbooks, and the best ideas from my journey as a parent, writer, and artist.
Today’s big idea is that maybe we should lie down on the floor more often. What say?
🖼️ Folks in and around Vancouver, I am hosting an Open Studio next Friday and would love to see you there. Lots of original art, prints for sale, sketchbooks, new materials, and things to talk about.
💻 My online course - How to Draw the Tiny People of Your World - goes live at the end of this month. Sign up to the waitlist for an exclusive discount.
Love the observation that your baby son loves it when you get down to his level. I have also seen this happen third young animals. When I was 9, growing up on a ranch, my horse had a sweet baby. I loved that boy, and I would take my books out to the corrals and sit down and lean against him and read my books out loud to him. The other horses would often gather around, and happily participate in the soothing good feelings.
My kid is 8 and I've totally forgotten about my many hours hanging out on the floor with her.. thanks for the memory recall!
