"But why sneaky?"
#290: ask me questions
Dear reader,
Do you want to see me draw? Have questions about my style and technique? Want to know what sneaky art is about?
I love getting questions from readers, especially the most curious ones. Answering questions is a chance to play with words. Arranging them in different ways, substituting one for another, making them fit together, making them sing, is a way to refresh how I see, think, and feel. Words are generative, said Jacques Derrida - to explain one, you always need others. Fun!
In today’s post, links to upcoming events (one that begins in an hour!) and a Barnes & Noble sale on my upcoming book!
The SneakyArt Post is a newsletter of secretly drawn art of the world. Every wee, I share the latest pages from my sketchbook, and the best ideas from my journey as an artist and writer.
Share this post with anyone else who might like it!

🛫 Travel
I will be at the USk Chicago Seminar this week, in town from Thursday until Monday. And the next weekend I will be in Edmonds (WA) near Seattle for Sketcher Fest (tickets available!).
Will you be in Chicago or Edmonds? There will be so much time to chat and draw together, and I would love for us to meet. Get in touch in the comments, or hit reply on the email, and let’s make plans.

Reader, I love your questions because they grant me perspective on how my work appears to others. Answering you is a chance to better understand myself. So … ask away!
Thank you for your time and attention. I am glad to have a space in your inbox this week.

Congratulations on your book! I'm very interested, but I have zero drawing ability. I've always been interested in sketching, but have no skill. Would your book be helpful for those without drawing ability? Let me know your thoughts.
Hey Nishant! Yes, I’ll be in Chicago Friday - Sunday. Would love to meet you :-)
