Dear Insider,
If you are born in the right place at the right time, it is possible to live inside a bubble of un-concern. You can spend days, weeks, years, even decades, inside it. You can be completely unaware that another world exists, that something else can be real. But then something pops your bubble, and suddenly you see.
When I was young, I believed that those who do not study history are doomed to repeat its mistakes. Its corollary suggests that those who do know history will not repeat those same mistakes. Growing up is the work of realizing that this is not the case.
Realizing that we will go out of our way to commit the same mistakes. That we will take great pride in it being our turn to commit the same mistakes. Maybe knowledge was never the cure. Maybe some things are beyond curing. Maybe some things are just so human that we cannot be above them.
(And that is unfortunate, and sad, and pathetic, and disappointing. These are human things too.)
Today’s post is about nothing at all. Just the foolishness of human affairs, the same mistakes, and the thin veneer of 21st-century civilization so easily stripped away, so easily put to the side when it is time to trade bullets. It’s the terror of knowing what this world is about.

Why can't we give love that one more chance?
Coz love's such an old-fashioned word,
And love dares you to care for
The people on the edge of the night
And love dares you to change our way of
Caring about ourselves
This is our last dance
This is our last dance
This is ourselves under pressure.
Current affairs have weighed a bit heavy on my thoughts of late as well. However, I know that there are far more of us who operate out of love, that we know the incredible power of love than otherwise. I am convinced that love is spreading and empowering more than we are led to believe. Perhaps, we are seeing last gasps of air as the old stories of the world are trying to be released. Love gives me the privilege and power to remain an optimist. Thank you for sharing your reflection.
Giving love in modern times is not easy, as we are too afraid of humanity and are ready to embrace violence instead ! Violence is never the solution, but only shows the scared side of humanity.
