👋🏼 Hello Insiders!
Are you ready to tell some tiny stories? I pored over the 30 Days of Vancouver sketchbook to pick the TinyPeople for this week’s storytelling thread.
Top entries this week will win copies of SneakyArt of Eau Claire, my independently published award-winning book. It is a hardcover coffee-table book with 112 pages of SneakyArt from the time I spent in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, a lovely town in the middle of the American Midwest. Learn more.
Not only will the copies be signed and numbered, but winners can customize their book by requesting an ink portrait!
In 2019 when I first started selling this book at the Artist’s Market in Eau Claire (Wisconsin), I made portraits on the inside front page while chatting with customers. I drew over 200 portraits that summer!
💻 Zoom event (in 3 hours!)
In case you missed it, at 9 am (Pacific Time) I am doing a 60-min Zoom hangout to flip through the 30 Days of Vancouver sketchbook. I will talk about the 30-day project and share some things I learned from drawing every day. This is also an opportunity to connect and ask me questions about my work.
The hangout is free to attend, but with limited seats fast running out!
✍🏼 Telling Tiny Stories
Have you participated in previous storytelling threads? If not, here is the step-by-step guide:
👀 Step 1. Pick your favourite Tiny Person.
🤔 Step 2. Relate them to someone from your world. Maybe yourself?
✍🏼 Step 3. Tell a tiny story about them in the discussion thread.
👍🏼 Step 4. Visit the discussion thread to read and upvote the stories of others.
Ready?
I drew these people outside the Vancouver Art Gallery downtown at lunchtime.
Dear reader, do you see a story worth sharing?
A goal of SneakyArt is to uncover the different ways we live private lives inside public spaces.
Phones make it easy, and headphones make it easier, but it is not very difficult to be completely lost inside your own world. To hardly notice that you are passing through a shared environment full of other people. (Read more on the annoying but important truth that other people exist.)
Dear reader, can you find a tiny story inside these bubbles?
