My response to a fan printing my sketches.
Insider #78 requesting important feedback from you.
Dear Insider,
Today it was warm under the sun. I spent a couple of hours drawing by the edge of the water in downtown Vancouver. It felt like spring is on the way.
I have been keeping busy this week with several different projects. In today’s Insider post, a project update and some ideas. Your feedback is requested!
The SneakyArt (Insider) Post is written exclusively for you, the patrons and supporters of SneakyArt. I offer a behind-the-scenes look at my ongoing projects and solicit feedback to shape my rough plans.
📧 I got an interesting email this month…
While searching for minimalist, urban art, a person came across my website. They downloaded some images and printed them for the walls of their home office.
However, I realized in my excitement I might have been too hasty and wanted to check to make sure you are OK with people downloading and printing your sketches like this... I want to make sure I am not violating any of your rights or taking advantage of you sharing your work on your website…
What is the right thing to say? This was my response:
In so many ways, the artist is defenceless on the internet. For all that it gives, it needs us to also relinquish some autonomy over our work.
Dear Insider, what are your thoughts?
