The bit about moving! It was beautiful. Especially this line - 'I want them to gather dust in a corner for years before I remember them again. It’s a privilege not easily afforded to immigrants, but I want home.' So glad I stumbled upon your newsletter.

Your article weirdly just popped up for me and it was just a breath of fresh air. My family and I are in the middle of moving from the west coast to the east coast after 22 years. Sorting out what to keep and what to give or throw away was probably the most painful task I have ever done. It was as you said—expensive and unnecessary or heavy and irreplaceable—what do you do with that? Anyway just wanted to drop a note that what this article gave me comfort. I love your artwork/ sketches.

Hi! I'm so happy to hear you resonated with this. :) Thank you very much for your kind words. I've been on the West Coast now for 6 months, and hope I don't have to move anytime in the near future!

Great write up about moving and what defines value. As someone preparing for her own move, it has been a journey down my past to determine what stays and what goes.
