This just popped up for me and was so refreshing to read, mentally and visually. I haven’t thought about a library for so long. This article jolted me back a lot of years. The feeling of wandering amongst books—you took the words right out of my mind. For those minutes I was immersed in your words and sketches, I was able to take a reprieve from my present moment of the external world and travel into the present moment of my internal world which has a tendency to get lost under the rubble of the outside noise. Your sketches, your projects, your thoughts are like this unexpected breeze that just shows up when the air was still for the last hours. Great read.
Thanks, Brian. I like to use this newsletter as a way to make these cross-connections in my mind. Sometimes the art connects to things I'm thinking about, and sometimes it leads me to discover new things. But consciously spending time to ponder over the 'why' has been helpful for me. :)
Hey Nishant! Thx for sharing your subversive sketchery. I’m impressed with your bravery to sketch in pen and ink. What, you never make a mistake, or sneeze when you’re drawing somebody’s nose? My eraser and my white acrylic pen are my most important art tools.
Hi Peter, I decided to switch to pen and ink before I was any good at it. Having an eraser on me meant I was finishing fewer pieces. But this way I only go forwards, turning the page, incorporating my mistakes. I think that's helped in the development of my 'style'. And over time, I make fewer obvious mistakes. Thanks for reading! :)
So much talent! I love it ALL!
Thank you so much! :)
Nishant!!!! You're supremely talented and this was such a delight to read, thank you! Lovely to meet you.
Thank you so much, Kalpana. It was great to connect with you as well, and I look forward to reading your newsletters! :)

I'm happy to hear that! :)
I really like how you’re drawing parallels between whatever you’ve been up to and the way that sneaks into your art. Very inspiring, love it!
