🗓 Day 11
I went up on the #15 bus, then walked along Broadway Ave to get to Gene Coffee Bar, which occupies a triangular space at a curious fork on Main St. It’s a unique location where the narrow triangular seating area gives a wide view of two busy streets. A fertile ground for TinyPeople!
Today, I sketched while occasionally pausing to read from my current book (The Story of Philosophy by Will Durant). I am reading about the French writer and philosopher Voltaire.
💬 Telling Tiny Stories Together
One reason I love drawing TinyPeople is that in their simplicity they are instantly recognizable to all of us. We recognize them as placeholders from our own world — someone we may have met, or passed by, or casually noticed from a distance. Each figure symbolizes someone distinct and unique in our lives.
So this week I want to play a little storytelling game. It’s an easy game with simple rules. I think it will be a lot of fun.
Here’s how it goes -
Step 1: Pick a favourite TinyPerson from the image below. Associate them with someone or something from your world.
Step 2: Write a tiny story about them in the comments.
Step 3: Come back to read the stories of other readers, and interact with them.
Step 4: Fun!

"Window Shopper"
He imagined himself in all sorts of clothes as he walked down the street. Every window was a new world, offering the chance to be a new him. Of course he never went in to buy anything. He was just a window shopper.
"Crepe in hand"
She couldn't see him anywhere. The venue was getting crowded. He wasn't picking up his phone. She considered searching for him, but the lines outside the crepe stand were growing longer.
After this, she said to herself. After the crepe there would be time enough.
