I quoted you this week at a seminar session with the Cartoon editor of the New Yorker and the head of Comics kingdom at King Features Syndicate:
“Social media does not serve us well. To have your attention I must play tricks, jump through hoops, participate in trends. Ugh. On the other end, you are goaded, manipulated and tracked by a predatory company that colonizes your mind and monetizes every moment.”
I love your writing and sketches! It’s very interesting to me how you are able to pull away from the culture and highlight parts of it that are not normally thought about, or known. What a wonderful, creative interesting newsletter. I came for the sketches but had a whole new world opened to me. Thank you…….
Hey Nishant, great post. I remember saying to you when I first joined that substack was a bit hidden, a bit under the radar, now I understand more. But for me as a mere mortal with a few followers, I now post on Instagram primarily for the friends I've made online, whether it be through crafting, jumprope or painting, they are just a handful of people, some of whom I have met with after being online friends. Not sure who the other 500 followers on my account are 🤣. Like, I mean, who cares? Might be different if I was running a busineoss maybe? I went to a yarn dyers festival on Friday, to see an online friend in person who was in my neighborhood. And if I get to Vancouver, I'll be looking you up! ☺️

Ahh, I am grateful you found that useful, Jason. Our episode is up next week! I've been taking a break from the podcast to balance other work. :)
I’m glad the pod came out well! I really enjoyed our conversation. Thanks again.

Thank you so much, Cathy.
Great concepts at work here
Are we only what others think we are?
I would highly recommend the book, Identity by Francis Fukuyama.
This is great stuff. So much to think about (which is my favorite thing to find in my inbox!) Happy Birthday!
Thank you!

I'd love to meet if you make it up to Vancouver. Thank you very much!
