Love the subject of your recent work for obvious reasons but most because it takes me back those first months being a parent, and love that you are mixing up your tools and playing.

Awww so cute! Love your colour experimenting! I am about to embark on oil painting, I usually use watercolour but I am curious to see how these work! And Myazaki! My favourites are My Neighbour Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service. I visited Japan many moons ago (25 years?), I still have the Totoro and Jiji the cat I bought there, they will be with me forever.

I love both of those films, Liz! I think I'm going to rewatch Kiki soon. And more films by Isao Takahata.

Hello Nishant, It is so nice to see more sketches of little Rohan. I really love the one with the Kitaboshi pencil. It’s great for your shading.

Regarding the colors, I was wondering if you have experimented at all with cooler colors, like blues and greens?

Also, I’ve noted that all of your sketches include Rohan with his mother and grandparents. None of them have you in them. You are also such a HUGE part of his life! I realize you can’t sketch yourself holding him live time, but have you considered sketching yourself holding him from a photo? Would love to see more of your chronicles capturing the special relationship between Rohan and his father.

Cheers!

Katherine

That's so true, Katherine. I need to find a way to draw myself. 🫣 Maybe holding him in front of a mirror, if not a photo?

I love how you're using water with the Museum Aquarelle pencils! And the red is so nice too!

Disney's Oliver & Company was on repeat when I was a kid. I watched a lot of this show called Adventures of the Little Koala, too. Just found it on Youtube and it's still so good! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GryaVNkvO68
