The interesting thing about windows is that they do two things at once. The open up a line of sight, a vision, of something or some place beyond yourself, beyond where you are. And yet, they're also reflective. With subtlety they mirror back an image of you to yourself.
That's beautiful! It reminds me of a line from the novel Erewhon -
> “There are few of us who are not protected from the keenest pain by our inability to see what it is that we have done, what we are suffering, and what we truly are. Let us be grateful to the mirror for revealing to us our appearance only.”
Mr Sneaky Artist, you will be missed for a couple weeks. Enjoy your time off. Let the pen and paper rest. Cheers and until the new year my fellow sketcher!!
I like your use of different-coloured inks to show the interior and exteriors. I’ve been working on my book and using inks for foreground and pencil for background. It adds a bit of depth, but also a variation in line texture.
Love that! I hope that sometime soon, someone will look you up and surprise you with Joy in finding your beautiful 😍 art. I'd so giddy with excitement and curiosity about the artist if I'd found something like that.
Ah, the random act of kindness is a miracle like watching the ocean at sunrise. You inspire to do the same!
Please do the same!

That's gorgeous! I'll have to add that to my list! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much, Mark. Best wishes for the new year, fellow sketcher!

Pencils are a great way to do it. I have seen urban sketchers use them with ink to create depth. It is something I want to figure out too!
I just got one of those field “mechanical pencil kits”. I have no idea what I’m doing but I’m doing it.
We really need to make time to draw together!
Absolutely.
2024 for sure-- lmk next time you're in NYC. (I will definitely try to get up to the Commonwealth ;)

Thank you Michelle! I hope so too! ❤️
