Day 20. Kerrisdale
I left a drawing behind the bench for a stranger to find.
👋🏼 Hello, reader.
day 20 | 10:30am | 14 deg C | overcast | kerrisdale, vancouver | see it on tiktok
This is Day 20 of 30 Days of Vancouver, my daily drawing project to explore this new part of my world, and draw the TinyPeople I find in it.
Thank you for adding SneakyArt to your inbox. If you like my work, share it with everyone you know.
Bring it up in social situations. Insist that people see it. Be completely unreasonable until they bend to your will. Gently stroke your chin as you speak high words in my praise.
It is good to give away things. I like to give art away sometimes. I send it right out into the vast expanse of our indifferent universe, with all the dark matter and cosmic rays. I imagine it travelling many lightyears along the infinite fabric of space and time. I imagine it seeing many things.
There is also the chance that someone might find it.
For them, I imagine what it was like to spot it. I imagine their look of surprise when they flip it over.
It is good to give art away because it lets me feel I am in control of my work. But also, art is meant to be shared with other people. It is good to reinforce that principle from time to time.
No one had picked it up in the 5 minutes I waited at the bus-stop across the street. I wonder if someone has seen it by now!
I also drew the day’s TinyPeople from that bench. There were people out for sunshine and groceries. There were several gaggles of high-school students. There were runners and cyclists travelling along the Arbutus Greenway. Kerrisdale looked beautiful and I took the time to observe the little things of beauty on this page.
Which one do you like best? Share in the comments and I will tell you their tiny story.
