The prizes for last month’s tiny story contest were mailed this week.

These tiny drawings are on their way to Nova Scotia (Canada) and Massachusetts (USA)!

Asking readers to write tiny stories for tiny people is a fun tradition that started on a lark only a couple of years ago. It was after I learned about the Art Abandonment movement, where people leave small pieces of art (drawings, carvings, knittings, etc) in public spaces for strangers to find.

In the time since, I have shared many tiny people with readers and they have written many tiny stories (and haiku!) for them. It’s been a pleasure to send sneaky art to the best entries. It is one of my favourite things to do as an independent artist.

Read how my study of the famous essay The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction by Walter Benjamin convinced me that everyone, regardless of economic ability, should own art.

📖 Sketchbook of Rohan

This week’s best drawing of Rohan is him getting the daily massage from his maternal grandparents (who are staying with us this month).

He dislikes arm twists and stretches, but loves to have his back kneaded. This is followed by a warm bath, the night feed, and songs to lull him to sleep. It is a good life when multiple people are at hand to listen to you burp.
