Dear Insider,

I am ready with a new workshop. I ran through it for the first time last weekend at Sketcher Fest. It covers a lot of useful ideas - some that play in my mind when I draw by myself, and others that figure in the advice I give other sketchers when they have questions.

The premise is simple - how to start and finish your drawings.

Would you find this workshop useful? And, as an Insider, would you like to grab a free seat over Zoom or in-person?

In today’s Insider post, find my workshop notes as a downloadable PDF, and links to past writing on these ideas.

The SneakyArt Insider Post is written for paying subscribers, patrons and superfans of SneakyArt. Every week, I learn in public - sharing the ideas that worked and the ones that did not - with the people who support my dream of being an independent artist and writer.

Why People Don’t Start

⏰ There is not enough time

✍🏼 They are not good enough

💭 They are overwhelmed by the scene

Why People Don’t Finish

🙌🏽 The scene changes or the subject leaves

🔂 They get lost in the details

🕐 They get pulled away by other people or appointments

With this new workshop, we overcome all of the above obstacles.

In last week’s Insider Post, I shared the experience of this day and the basic ideas of the workshop.

Participants pledge to make “many bad drawings”
My first demo in downtown Edmonds
