Lovely post ❤️. I hope they have a bond that strengthens with each passing year. My brother, who is 4 and a half years younger, and I fought like cats and dogs till about I turned 15 or 16. After that I would loftily ignore him - unless he got hurt or injured. Later we became cautious good friends… if you know what I mean :). With age, he is the rock I lean on. My greatest source of support and confidence besides my mother.

I am the middle of 3 girls. A middle child syndrome. We had no cousins growing up (my only first-cousin is in Russia, and I didn't meet her until I was 14; in Russia, too, the word for "cousin" is a version of sister/brother, and that is how my cousins of varying degrees and I think of us), so I love watching my kids and my nieces next door being able to develop a sibling-ish relationship. Cousins are something special.

My wife is the middle of 3 girls too! Everything aside, I do think it's a special position in a very interesting family dynamic.

It’s wonderful that you are making it a priority to let Rohan know her cousin like this. Sibling rivalry is interesting I have many stories of mischievousness that my brother (two years younger) did and felt ma was always in his side (Baba always in mine). Anyway now they are both gone I feel he is the only one to share those days, who can get it right away with all the five senses when I say “Remember that?” when no one really can.

We are enjoying watching their little frictions with each other. Can't wait to see how this relationship grows over time! 😍

Happily my two kids, 16 and 13, never developed much sibling rivalry.

Such cute sketches!

Love the little drawings - so sweet! I don’t recall having much sibling rivalry though I’m sure there was some. I’m a twin and our little sister was born 13 months later so it always felt like we were triplets. Messy, adventurous, wonderful times (for me :)!

Interaction between two toddlers (or even younger in your case) are great social experiments. There is something row about their interactions which are not yet shaped by society. We can learn a lot about them and ourselves.

Very true, it's very educational because it is behavior largely uninfluenced by society. We like to spot tiny similarities and who's going after whom.

Have a rein. Sibling rivalry ? You don’t want to know but it most definitely drove me to start writing from a very young age
