Dear reader,

It has been a great year. So much has happened. So much has changed.

The SneakyArt Post shares secretly drawn art of the world, and the best ideas from my journey of self-education to be an artist, writer, and podcaster.

In January, I left home…

… again. To fly away to the other corner of the world. Again. I wrote about it. This piece has quickly become one of the all-time most popular posts. It taught me that being vulnerable is important.

With Insiders, I spoke about learning to de-center myself, with the simple (but complicated) idea that “other people exist.”

In February, I gave some time…

… to a protest site, and a cry for justice that is now fading from public memory.

With Insiders, I shared the motivation and reasoning behind my decision to self-publish my first book.

The ‘Every Child Matters’ protest-art installation was finally taken down this fall. (Robson Square, downtown Vancouver)

In March, I spied a photoshoot…

… on a sunny day downtown.

With Insiders, I shared an exclusive post-script conversation with artist and architect David Morales. Also, why I like to have long conversations on the podcast.

In April, I drew every day…

… but my greater achievement was to bring words and lines together on the same page. Read the goals I set for my 30 Days of Vancouver project and how I approached them. Especially the scary ones.

Reader, were you here then?

With Insiders, I spoke about my decision to give away art as a way to maintain autonomy over my work.

In May, as spring gave way to summer…

… I looked between the green earth and rustling leaves for signs of public life.

With Insiders, I shared five tips to making SneakyArt.

In June, I found a free library…

… and decided to draw every time I found one.

With Insiders, a primer on how I make the SneakyArt Podcast, continuing my resolution to learn in public.

In July, the days were long…

… and we forgot all about winter and the cold winds that bring ice and rain.

With Insiders, I shared the cheatsheets I prepare before every podcast recording.

In August, I saw an old world with new eyes…

… and finally allowed myself to be on vacation.

With Insiders, I did a postcard giveaway from Amsterdam.

In September, I prioritized friends…

… and spent more time with the people I know, and who know me.

With Insiders, I released an excerpt from a field episode recorded in Utrecht.

In October, I added colour to the mix…

… and everything changed instantly.

Also, this conversation with

Amy Stewart
changed everything all over again.

With Insiders, I shared thoughts on different sketchbooks and why I like to keep shuffling.

In November, I paid attention to nature…

… as the season changed.

With Insiders, I shared an inspired passage from my next book and the progress on my book proposal.

In December, I drew on the trains…

… and faced my fears.

With Insiders, I began a four-part audit of the year.

This Sunday, the SneakyArt Insider Club is meeting on Zoom! I will flip through sketchbooks, answer questions, draw things. It will be fun, and you should join us.

Dear reader, thank you for your time and attention this year. It has been a pleasure.
